Personal background
I am basically a big dork. I put up the facade of sports loving, poker playing, beer drinking guy; but deep down I know I am a geek. I love computers and the idea of a network which spans the world and allows me to speak to anyone, anywhere, no matter what language they might speak. I am infinitely happier just being the geek. Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I would like to believe that this giant space out there is more than just a scenic backdrop. I know there are allot of unexplained events going on out there but I have yet to see any decent proof. I say yes to some sort of life out there; it just might not walk up and want to shake our hands with its tentacles.

2. Absolutely. I believe the signal would have to be based on information that any race would encounter with the abilities to receive our signal. In other words, two simple areas:

A. In fundamental truths like math and sciences.
B. The simplest of way that seems to be most commonly missed; we send a signal spoken in the same technology that the signal would have to be received in order to hear the message in the first place.

3. I run SETI at home to be a help, instead of just a critic or hindrance. I would have to admit I am not an expert on all the finest details of this project but it seems to me a simple and easy way to do some shared research. I would suggest that we never give up trying to dissolve the mystery of the unknown and always strive for a broader understanding of the beautiful universe that God has blessed us with.
