| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I beleive that in our vast universe (with nearly infinate possibilities) there must be life out there somewhere. I'm not sure how it will be done, but I'm hoping we find extraterrestrial life in my lifetime. If they are friendly it could open many possibilities, while if they are hostile we may be in trouble. In either case, humans as a race will need to rethink their place in the universe.
I'm not so sure about transmitting with a beacon, I would like to find others before they find us, so we have a chance to prepare and know what we are getting into.
I run SETI@home to help in the search and also as a small competition with co-workers. I hope the project continues. My computer is ready to process as much as possible! |
