Personal background
I'm a 33 year-old web programmer at Southwestern University in Georgtown, Tex. I also do a lot of pro-bono web consulting for fledgling non-profits on the side. But I tend to spend whatever free time I have outdoors: running, hiking, camping, and (recently) learning more about landscaping. My most favorite things are my family, Hawaii, and the Grateful Dead.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have run SETI@home since '99, because -- like most geeks -- I have a suspicion that (a) we're not alone in this universe, and (b) we'd be CRAZY to think that we are! I'm a big fan of distributed/"grid" computing, which SETI@home made so very popular! It's an honor to be a part of this project.
