Personal background
Hi Ho!
Im a 30 years old guy, and live in Düsseldorf, Germany. My occupation is precision mechanic i have had worked here in Düsseldorf for the Univesity in the Institut for Laser- and Plasmaphysics, and at the moment im vocational retraining to it-system-electronics. My hobbys are making music, im playing bass guitar, listening to, espacial NY HC, Skate Punk an so on and playing online games like counterstrike. For interests in this game take a look under http://usg.clanpage.de but i have to say the content is written in german. ;)
I've startet seti @ home now for the 3. time, the first time was i think in 1995 or so. But u know Windows Systems, and so u know what it means to say format c:/ ... so many little progs and plug ins are gone and the same is with the little seti prog. Hope that it would be the last time for the future. *lol*
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Ok, my opinion is, that it would be a little arrogant to think we would be the one and only intelligent Lifeform in Space. Take a look on mother earth and u will see a lot of other intelligent Individuals, we cant expect and by the way at first, show me one real intelligent Human here on earth. ;)
I would say expect the unexpectet.
How we will discover it?-Who knows?-Maybe they are nearlyer than we expect, maybe they are between us. Maybe they will never known us. ;)
The possible benefits for us are, new sientific cognitions and for them, to end as a lab rat. Cause the Human destroys what he cant understand.
To see it a little more positve, maybe we would learn from each other and begin to understand to take care for our habitat.
I run Seti@home, cause im intrestet in outher space and Astrophysics. Maybe i would be the one who will find e.t. ;)
Hope u will find someone, somehow, something. ;)

best whishes from me.
and excuse my bad english ;)
