Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I became interested in SETI@home the first time I read about it in a magazine. I began to use SETI@home software that day but I removed it from my PC two days later because the "graphical" version available that days was slowing down my computer too much. Now I'm back here, using the console NT version, running as a service, and I'm very happy because my computer is not throwing away any CPU time and also there isn't any noticeable perfomance loss.

I think SETI@home is an interesting project (as a distributed computation project and as a SETI project) but, after reading all the technical papers, I cannot agree with the bandwith they're analysing, I think broader BW should be observed.

About ET intelligence itself: who knows. I think we can say "yes, they exist" and also say "no, they don't" with valid reasons in both cases, so we need to test. We need SETI projects.
