Personal background
My name is Dirk. I work at the Charite University Hospital Berlin, Germany.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been a SETI member since 1999. Starting with an Intel 286 Computer with 60 Mhz, which needed about one million hours to complete a single work unit, I am now running SETI with a little more sophisticated hardware (that definitely is more fun!).
Yet, while SETI and myself are getting older I am frequently leaning back in my armchair, looking at the graphical bars of the SETI-workunits beeing computed and in the very back of my head I still hope, that "my" workunit will be THE ONE.
Big hug from Berlin to everyone out there sharing the same passion :-)))
