Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When someone asks me "do you believe there is life outside earth" I reply "do you believe there is life on earth?" or "do you believe we are alive?" or "do you believe there is life other than you?" I think the most surprising news is I exist and I am alive! I don't know how but it seems that way...

The most shocking effect of a possible contact may be the same as a contact between western "civilization" and people in "wilderness". And consequences of those contacts seem to be negative.

I think humans already discovered ET existence. Not physically but telepatically, maybe we can say "inspiration".

I do not believe that all kinds of life should be in carbon forms or water based or biological, or even physical as we mean by the term "physical" yet. Most of the people believe in God, souls, spirits, angels but I can hardly see signs of connection between these two areas of thinking.

I think finding a physical evidence of earth like life form we are looking for is much much more difficult than understanding "what is life?".

I think "thinking" is a way of transmitting information. Otherwise how can we explain inspiration? Do you believe angels are alive? What kind of life form are our spirits?

I think we desperately need to broaden our thinking about life and intelligence; and combine our beliefs and knowledge.

I appreciate the work done in SETI all around the world and I run SETI@home to help even a bit. But I believe this is a very limited range of search about life. And I don't mean the frequency range by the term "range". For example do we define dolphyns' and elephants' lives "intelligent"? Do we get radio signals from them? Do we define our life "intelligent"? Why? Because we developed technology to destroy the world? And we still define our selves "intelligent"? And what about civilization? Do we define old native American people or Australian aborejeens "civilised"? Or do we call our selves?

I think we forget to set a Search for Terrestial Intelligence project!
