Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Of course, e.t. exists, but, they will discover us, because we will need at least 2,500 years to receive the technologie to travel to long distance space in a realistic time (when we didn't destroy our planet before). I hope, that the contact will be peaceful, and that we get new technologies, e.g. a way to use energy more nature-friendly.
2) Yes, we also did so in the voyeager projekt. It must be simple (mathematical) information, that could not have natural random reasons, so that "they" can reacon its from another life-form (us).
3) "I believe (X-Files)". I think, it's better to run SETI than to run Flying Windows :-) Using the many unused processor threads all around the world is very interesting for me. I like the thought of a global working network. I think that many other problems could be solved by this.
