Personal background
Hi,

mein Name ist Philipp. Profilerstellungen waren noch nie meine Stärke, daher werde ich mich einfach recht knapp halten.

Alter: 27

Wohnhaft: Bonn, Deutschland

Hobbies: Lesen, Tae-Kwon-Do, soziale Arbeiten

Hi,

my name is Philipp. Creating a profile of myself never was easy, so I will just give a very short description.

Age: 27

Resident: Bonn, Germany

Hobbies: Reading Books, Tae-Kwon-Do, social working

How I got to Seti@Home:

I always had a Faible for Sci-Fi and also started a study of physics with astronomy as additional subject. Ok, this did end up desastrous, but still the interest for this topic still remains.

As I have the oppinion, that an (nearly?) endless space should leaves enough place for (nearly) infinite possibilities, why not for other intelligent Species?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Other extraterestrial might exist, an endless space may contain infinite possibilities... You´re asking what kind of benefits and dangers there may be? Just take a look at our history, man always discovered new lands, new civilizations, remember what had happened. It may depend on wether the human race is able to learn from history and evolved by it, or not.

2. If we shoul send a beacon depends on wether we want to contact other species or not. Do we think that other species wants to contact a species like us? Would we like to contact a species like us? You´re asking for the information we should send? What kind of information would we liek to receive? A technical or contentwise recommendation i cant give, I´m wether a linguistic specialist nor a mathematician.

3. Use all possibilities to experience everything that can be experienced. Do not expect a result, but be open minded to all you find an learn...
Maybe we don´t find what we expected to find, but maybe something else, something we did not even thought about. Just keep your eyes and your mind opened wide, always ecpect the unexpected...
