Technical Sergeant Steven G. Miller Jr. is an Aerospace Propulsion Craftsman assigned to the 43d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina. He is 31 years old.

Sergeant Miller was born in High Point, North Carolina, on 19 October 1977. He attended Trinity High School in Trinity, North Carolina, graduating in May 1996. He attended 3 years of Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. He was also a member of the Spanish Club.

Upon graduation from high school, Sergeant Miller enlisted into the United States Air Force and arrived for basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, in June 1996. Upon completion, he entered the Aerospace Propulsion career field, receiving a direct-duty assignment to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. Along with upgrading to the five-skill level, Sergeant Miller also promoted ahead of his peers via "Below-The-Zone." His distinct capabilities as a leader and aircraft mechanic earned him the distinguished "Leo Marquez Award". In May 2000, he relocated to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where he has served in a variety of positions to include assistant lead technician, technical order distribution account manager, hazardous materials supervisor and forms documentation trainer. To his credit, Sergeant Millers' steadfast dedication earned him accolades as the 86th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron's Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2001. He transferred to the 37th Airlift Squadron at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, volunteering for numerous assignments abroad. In May 2004, he relocated to Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina, where he received a hand selected assignment to the only "enroute" in the continental United States.

His duty assignments included deployments in the following countries: Norway, Spain, Cape Verde, Sao Tome, England, Albania, Morocco, Ghana, Cypress, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, Sicily, Greece, Iraq, Poland, France, Bosnia, Ukraine and Germany.

His military decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal (awarded twice), Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (awarded 7 times), Good Conduct Medal (awarded 4 times), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon (awarded 3 times), Air Force Noncommissioned Officer Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon ( awarded twice), Marksmanship Ribbon (M-16) and the Air Force Training Ribbon.

Sergeant Miller is currently enrolled at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Campbell University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and an Associates in Professional Aeronautics while maintaining an overall 3.89 grade point average.

Sergeant Miller is single, resides in Sanford, North Carolina, and has a 11 year old son, named Steven III.
