Personal background
I am a 38 year old (at the time of printing), Telecom Engineer...no, not that kind. I support telecommunications for an Insurance Company.

I enjoy Sci-fi (typical, ay?), have multiple kids, trying to get a cat and a dog, but the spousal unit hates cats.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Is life really out there....the way I see it, if we were anywhere else, then the answer would be yes. If there is a grand-plan, then you have to ask yourself, why are we all the way out here??? Kind of like in the middle of no-where. Like No-Name Rd, between Denver and Las Vegas.

The Benefits are that they could be like us, and would want to help us rise above our current levels.

The Dangers are that they could be like us.

2. Absolutley. It beats what's going out via TV signals already.

3. I am glad to see that distributed processing works. I am glad to give my time to this project. Any chance I get to turn a PC on to this I do. Unfortuneatley, it is getting tougher to convince employers to do so (damn you hackers).
