No, I don't expect success. An alien civilization that is capable of reading our signals and/or sending similar signals themselves strikes me as most unlikely. A civilization sufficiently advanced is probably using technology we cannot begin to fathom, and have no way to detect. But you gotta use the tools you understand, so here we are!
I'm running SETI@home becasue I feel it's the right thing to do. Also, I enjoy the idea that my idle computing power is not going to waste, and the cameraderie of the Club Teams. Join us!
