Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In a universe of incalculable size the complete arrogance of a group of creatures living in an insignificant planet is shocking. To even suppose that we are alone in this universe is crazy and this question of 'Does extraterrestrial life exists?' is entirely irrelevant. It does it simply has to. That we havent got concrete evidence to support this claim just shows how blind we are and how completely we opppose change. We will find them only when we pose a greater threat to ourselves than they ever would and could. Till that day we shall simply have to wait and remain as blind.
What SETI has been undertaking in its existence is very creditable and is something that we all should support. I congratulate you'll SETI. Humans have a long way to go before they should want other life forms to find them because we are an uncouth and uncivilised group of people. And we certainly dont want people finding about us atleast not yet. But the day is not far away when we will have to warn othyer civilisations about us before we go barging into their solar systems in our rapidly progressing space program.
I am running and will continue to run SETI@home because this is my way of atleast contributing something to the search for extraterrestrial life forms.
