Extraterrestrial life? Who else should think it exists if I don’t? Well, actually humans may be discovered, before they discover aliens out, simply because of the fact that too many of the humans pay unreasonably too much attention to gadgets like digital watches, and you know... you've maybe read that already in some book. Advantages of finding aliens "extraterrestrial life" - human slang :-) are quite clear - minimising the chance for vogons to run onto the humans themselves, which, as we all perfectly know, may be quite destructive to the earth... and hence to the humans, or at least to some great part of them.
2. Human beings should not send any clues about their existence! I repeat, do-not-send-any-clues-about-their-existance. Just seek. (If you now recall a famous song from the past, maybe I should add - and destroy, only where needed). :-)
I actually run seti@work :-). I used to run seti@home also, but some fan in my PC started rattling bad, so I started shutting it down again, though the project is really good. I love it. Internet distributed computing has much more to contribute to the toughest calculations.
And may I suggest maybe (sorry of it's implemented, but I didn't see any of this) to develop a program, which will help say, SAs to use the seti@home on their private networks. Some built on DCOM tool, which will give easy, from server maintenance, and will not with the workstation's UI, but will gracefully harvest their unused power... so real computational giants will be unleashed. :-)))
