Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. We run SETI@home because we wish to contribute any way we can, in testing the extraterrestrial hypothesis (i.e. the hypothesis that some unidentified flying object [UFO] reports may be extraterrestrial spaceships or probes of some kind.

2. The project is unique! Either we humans are the only sentient species in the Universe, or we are not. If we are not alone, then there are either a small number of other species/civilizations or there are a huge number of other species/civilizations. Either possibility (which, at present, based on our current knowledge) is as likely as the other - and equally mind-boggling.
