Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I believe that ET exists ? Absoultely. Of the billions of star systems out there I think it would be very unlikely that our solar system is the only one with intelligent life.
Should we transmit a beacon for others to find ? I don't think it is necessary. We have been transmitting to outer-space for the best part of a century (via radio/television).
Why do I run SETI@home ? I think it's a clever idea to use the millions of PC's out there to process the data received from the RT.
