Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think is likely that extraterrestrial intelligence exists and that we will eventually find it through radio emissions. I think the discovery will lead to an increased emphasis on development in space.
We should listen to before we talk, so we should not transmit a beacon.
I think this project generally is fun. I started running SETI@home just to chew up idle computer cycles in a useful way, but I think his just nice to use computers and the Internet for a humanitarian goal.
