Personal background
I'm from Santiago Chile, 36 years old, computing engineer running his own (little) company. An astronomy & physics geek since i was 8 years old. I'm always aware of SETI iniciatives (also science in general) & i've been supporting seti@home since about its beginnigs.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe there is intelligent life on other planets. I think life is a very rare thing in the universe though, and probably thats the reason we still dont have any good signal after 40 years of SETI. Dangers of that discovery? none. They obviously will be civilized, and consecuently i think they will be "relatively pacific" people like ourselves and probably even more civilized (whats "civilized" by the way?). Also, they surely will be too far to visit us, even too far to entablish a good communication.

I choose to give my little grain of sand because SETI always has been questionated & low budget. If we, normal people, help with what SETI need (processor time), SETI will prevail in time. Just a little help, multiplied by millions, is a huge help i think.
