Profile: LTC Mickey C Bishop

Personal background
I am a member of the USS MATRIX Chapter of StarFleet International. I am also a StarFleet Marine. I hold the fictional rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I am an Original Trekker (Been since September 8, 1966).

In real life I am an Applications Analyst Programmer for the North Carolina Community College at their System Office in Raleigh North Carolina. I have a normal life. It just happens to include Star Trek and Sci Fi.

On August 5th, 2003 a fellow member of StarFleet Command, another group I belong to, asked me to join their group. Since the Matrix group was so large, I decided to move. Plus, in this group I am an Admiral!

On November 26th, 2003 I decided to return to the Matrix group due to the inactivity of the SFC Group founder.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
A fellow crew member, Jim Strait, brought SETI@home to my attention. It is a worthwhile project.

I believe that there is intelligent life out there somewhere. We can't be the only sentinet lifeforms in the Universe.

One day we will meet them when the time is right. I would hate to think that Earth would just be a rest stop for a Galactic Traveller and NOT a destination. And I just hope that they are friendly and NOT like the aliens in "Independence Day".
