Personal background
I run four P4's a 3.10, 3.06 the other a slower 2.0, all with at least a gig of RAM,

I have been a User Group volunteer for over 20 years and still have a copy of IBM's DOS 1.0. My first PC cost over $5000 and had 64K of ram with 2 160K floppy disks. http://www.cpcug.org or http://www.apcug.net are two non-profit
user groups that I support

I do volunteer network and computer consulting for a non-profit handicapped agency in my local Rockville area.

I run Vista Ultimate on my laptop and Vista Business on my huge Dual P4 with the 2 gigs of ram. I just rejoined Seti after it was down for so long.
I think that anyway that I can use the spare computing power is great.

I do some small business consulting in my spare time to keep my fingers in the pie, so to speak. I am in pretty good shape for the shape I am in..

I ran one of the first Bulletin Board Systems on an IBM PC in the country. I ran it for well over 10 years and then internet took over.

Forgot to include that I spent 20 Years in the USN and retired as an ETCS.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would hope that someone will find out that we are not alone. Maybe it could be me. I am pretty darn sure that we are not alone or at least it could be some other form of life outside of human..
