Personal background
My personal background... hmmm... what do I want the world to know?
I'm a software engineer, first of all. Have been since... oh... about age 6 when I discovered the BASIC interpreter on my Atari ST.

Hobbies are always fun to talk about. Anything to do with computer/video games, o'course. Particularly in programming them (since I aspire to do that for a living someday (hopefully) soon). Taekwondo is another big hobby. Paper-and-dice roleplaying games are another big one. Particularly this one, created by a friend of mine, which I'm currently helping to 'beta test'. I'm also into drawing and writing fiction, though I don't do nearly enough of either to ever develop my skills to where I'd like them to be. =\\

I think that's about it. Anything more you'll have to ask me about yourself. :P
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why am I helping SETI? Mostly because I don't like the idea of my computer just sitting here doing nothing. ;) Helping SETI find interesting extra-terrestrial signals is cool too though. That's about as far as I want to go in discussing my opinions on the subject though.
