Hi, I am from Norway and is 26 years old. I have always been interested in computers. Been playing around with them since my dad bought the C64, later onto the Amiga and now PC's. I am very interested in hardware and overclocking. The clock cycles and power gained from overclocking are donated to the SETI@Home project.
I have finished 9 years of ordinary school, one year with Electronics and finished my Information & Communications Technology education. So now I'm working for The Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports as an IT-Consultant.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I beleive SETI@Home is a very valid reason to keep computers running day and night. It is very exciting to see if anyone will be able to spot or calculate an alien signal out of the radio noise. It is also very fun to try and compete with other groups and individuals around the world.
In the future I would like to see more support for other platforms. There are several operative systems and other hardware based systems that are not able to serve the SETI@Home project.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
