Welcome to my profile.
My nickname is Kyre and I am the author of Lairs which is a website based around helping others design their own webpages. Most of my spare time is occupied writing my website or reading books.
As a part of Lairs I have a personal area which gives personal information about my interests, achievements and creations. This section also contains some pictures about me and pictures of my lamps, candles and water toys.
Personal Information:
My nickname is Kyre, as I have said above. I am 27 years old and was born on 22/08/1979. I live on the East Coast of England and love the sea since I grew up there. I work as a Java Programmer and I am fascinated by all aspects of web design. I love SciFi and enjoy Star Trek Voyager as often as possible.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I became interested in SETI@Home when introduced to the screensaver at work. I have been a SETI@Home user since 28/07/2001, almost three and a half years. It still takes my pc at home 15 hours to complete a unit though so my stats are not too high. I belong to the SETI@Home group Lairs.
I have always been interested in SETI work and fascinated by the idea of finding life on any planets which I am convinced is out there. The number of planets which have already been discovered through the Doppler effect is astounding and the evidence of possible water on Mars proves that we are not an isolated case of life.
I feel that extraterrestrial intelligence is probably out there although, if they are anything like us who destroy anything/anyone in our way, they may not be friendly. They are probably more advanced than we are. I think that we are already transmitting many signals into space from our everyday life such as UHF, VHF and radio waves. Perhaps a directed signal would be useful.
I appreciate that extraterrestrials will be different, probably both physically and in intelligence but I hope we can breach this divide in time. |
