Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am not going to repeat an analysis of the probability that there is intelligent life out there, or the probability that we will catch a signal. My main concern is on what kind of civilizations
would transmit signals to outer space: what reasons can compel a civilization to spend resources to transmit signals to outer space(distress? curiosity? amusement?), and what technology will they use?
(EM signal? gravitational signal? "dark energy" signal?)

We are looking for a few needles in a stack of hay, and around us there are other stacks of hay waiting to be checked. If you think about it, it gets very frustrating and
overwhelming. But we should keep listening; we owe it to ourselves and to the ones trying to talk to us.
