Profile: Uwe Heinrich

Personal background
I am a 32 year old GIS coordinator with a wife and three kids. I live in the city of Zutphen. Records of the city go back as far as 882 ac, but it is known that the area of city has been inhabited for almost 2000 years. In mideaval time Zutphen contributed a lot to a juridical system that have been the foundation of many western laws today. If you can read Dutch, you can read more about it at this site.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
With so many billions of stars in the universe, a great lot of them with planets and some of them probebly a lot like our planet there must me life out of there. The distances in space are so vast that it may not even be possible ever to make contact with extraterrestrial life, if it is intellegent, but I personally think it is worth to try. I am convinced that ET and we can learn a great deal from eachother.

The risk ? They may be a hostile kind of creatures, but then again, they may be quite different from ourselves ;-)
