Personal background |
I've worked for one of the top high tech companies (no matter how you "measure" it) for almost 30 years and seen a lot of change. My hobbies are the BSA, playing CC music in a praise team, singing tenor in a choir, directing a handbell choir, and audio enhancement. Orginally from Long Island, I now live in metro Atlanta. Since retiring I've gone into website design, mostly as a volunteer. My two biggest endeavors are for the Norcross Presbyterian Church and for the Lionheart Theatre Company. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
SETI is a serious endeavor to find and identify the RF artifacts of technologically advanced civilizations in the near universe. Just by the math other civilizations are already more advanced than ours -- we have had modulated RF for only about 100 years. I'm convinced that "the others" would want to know "we are here" and that we should actively transmit evidence of our existence. I believe that they are benevolent and are willing, even yearning, to teach us. Proof that others exist will change humanity profoundly. And if we could actually communicate with ETI... |
