Profile: Allen Harry

Personal background
I live in Colorado, at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I retired 6/2000 from a long career in aerospace.
I enjoy astronomy, fly fishing, ham radio (KØAWH), and music (pedal steel guitar & piano).
My main interest is working as a competitions official for USA Shooting (the National Governing Body for Olympic shooting in the USA) and as an official for the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) (the International Governing Body for Olympic shooting).
I also work part-time at a fly-fishing tackle store.
I have five wonderful grown children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I truely believe that we are not alone in this vast universe. I do not know when, where or how we will "meet our neighbors", but I know we will someday. I see little danger in this potential contact, and expect that if we approach it with an open mind, we will be astonished, elated, happy, and amazed. It will be a learning opportunity beyond all description.

This SETI program is a wonderful first step. I believe that it will take funding and cooporation from business, industry and government from many nations to achieve the goal of discovery of ETI. My very little part of the plan is using the SETI tools on my computer. This use of the SETI tool is just a small step by me, but one that is multiplied by the many that share this same idea.
