Profile: Manfred Korn

Personal background
I'm a physisist (age 50) working at the production fab of micromechanical sensors for automotive applications. Since childhood I'm interested in astronomy and space. One of my first "experiments" concerning contacting extraterrestial life was using a torch and sending light signals well up into space - a quite naive idea, isn't it. Getting more and more knowledge of the world and the laws that govern it, my belief was growing that there must be somebody out there due to pure statistics.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I strongly hope that we will get in contact sometimes and we will benefit. It would be a challenging piece of information to know their way of living and thinking.

Therefor I'm supporting Seti@Home and the Seti institute to get things working. Seti@Home and the Seti institute guarantee a strong and constant search, which is needed, if we have the technical capability nowadays. This is a real last frontier.
