Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've been running SETI@home since 1999 and try to convince friends to do the same, but I'm always amazed by their unwillingness to do so. I think the question of whether life exists elsewhere in the Universe is a silly one. It is the pinnacle of ignorance to think otherwise, and rather egosentric to insist that only we humans exist as we are god's children or some such silliness.
