Personal background
i am from germany, i study informatics in kiel
i am interested in nearly all kinds of scients, that is why i am taking part here.
seti@home is the most interesting project i know, i tried the GOLEM, but it was too
boring.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
No.1:
i really do think that there ist extraterrestrian life somewhere, but i also think, the we never discover it.
maybe someday somebody finds some primitive lifeforms on other planets, but communication with "aliens" sounds a bit utopic for me.
i take part in this project beacause oppinions are often corrected by facts.

2.
if we find intelligent life somewhere, we should leave them alone, it is enough to know that we are not alone. there is no need to cut them into pieces and things like that, and sometimes it is better not to know everything about everything

3. suggestion:

a few statistics in the client window about overall cpu-time, active members, things that have been found so far (unusual sources of signals, not only caused by ET)
