Hi, I am Edith, German, 42 years old. I am proud of participating in this project, which is one of my favourite hobbies. I excercise my dream job: translator - in my own company.
Besides this, I have a large range of hobbies and things, that interest me. The 2000 characters allowed would not be sufficient for telling all of them - but just look into my homepage: http://www.gespenstli.de.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. OF COURSE it exists, I am sure. Why should we be the sole intelligent species? Surely the other ETs will discover us - when the time is right. Benefits and dangers? We have to see, perhaps some new diseases, possibly some therapies for diseased in our world, faster development of technologies or other knowledges (I am a Trekkie, you see?:-)
2. Why not? But the impression from our world will be quite confusing, millions of people, thousands of languages, different knowledges. I am not sure, whether we are already prepared to do so. Surely our problems on earth are serious enough to have a predominant place before transmitting a beacon.
