Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@Home is an awesome project for two major reasons:
1. I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists.
2. I like the distributed computing idea to make use of millions of computers all over the planet to aid in the search. The best idea is that seti@home uses computing time that would normally be waisted in screen saver mode.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
