Profile: Frodo Baggins

Personal background

Well, what to say... I'm 40 years old Italian living in France and earning my life by teaching Computer Science at the local University.

I love science fiction, expecially space opera, so it should not be astonishing if I'm involved in this project, even though I didn't do a lot for it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

Of course there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, simple probability considerations show this. As far as discovering it, I realy don't know. They are far and away, and light take a lot of time to travel from there to here. But we have to look anyhow (see below).

Send a bacon ourself? Are you kidding? You know, I do not belive in this UFO talk as advanced being should of course be deeply moral and only want our wellbeing... I'm not saying that the just want to crush us, I don't belive in the green-monseters-wanting-to-invade-hearth either. I rekon they are just as us, and this do not make me feel any better.

Simply stated: they are out there, maybe we and them we'll meet some day or another (well, let's say one century or another) and the first who knows the other is there will have a start. If they are good willing, then it will not hurt us, if they are not it may prove to be very important.
