Personal background
Hello all!

I’m currently an IT “thing” for a small mortgage brokerage in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England (aka Geordies!) aged 31ish.

I’ve always taken a keen interest in computers ever since I ripped two VIC20s apart and made them play chess against each other and now I build, network, programme, database… OK I’m not a complete geek; I do other stuff too, football, pub, tenpin bowling and design and fly my own kites. The last kite I made was a bit too big and I ended up 20 feet above the ground and the kite pinged on Newcastle Airport’s radar so they sent the local police helicopter to investigate, for which I had to make some profuse apologies to the Civil Aviation Authority but I think they saw what I’d achieved and just got a warning that I deserved, oops!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love life and think there should be more of it, it all fascinates me. From the tiny ants that build their empire (that could be me! The seti@home user) to our ability to start to populate space, but there must be life beyond our solar system, space is infinite therefore mass is infinite, only the speed of light “C” is not so we can’t see it, if we could… 01001000 01101100 00100001

“Contact” would be nice to see/hear however very doubtful, we are limited by C and if “contact” were made do think they could teach us to overcome C and make physical contact? – The greatest minds on our planet can’t so I think we’d be safe, but we don’t know unless we push our selves to the very edge that is why seti@home is important.
