Personal background
I am a 40-something corporate trainer in Tulsa, OK, USA. I enjoy reading and debating issues ... life outside our solar system comes to mind! Sometimes, digging through information is as much separating fact from fiction, truth from hypothesis ... Zecharia Sitchin for example.

I am a youth soccer (futbol) coach and referee. Both our children are goalkeepers and aspire to national team play. I am also a Boy Scout leader helping young men explore and experience the many opportunities available through Scouting.

I am a backyard mechanic and "car-nut", and enjoy auto racing in all forms!

As a trainer, I enjoy helping people learn and discover.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I think there exists life outside our solar system. With our biased human minds, we may have already discovered it, but do not understand what we are seeing. Once we make the realization, we must overcome the human tendency to destroy that which is foreign to us, or that which we do not understand. Caution is critical ... contamination ... including cross-cultural ... may be more harmful than beneficial.

I think we have been sending beacons since the beginning of radio transmissions. Unfortunately, especially since the advent of television broadcasts, the message we are sending may not place mankind in the best light. If we have an effort to transmit a specific signal, it should be that we are curious ... we are explorers ... and that on one hand we welcome contact, yet we are afraid that such contact would alter our perception and faith.

I run SETI as my small contribution to a larger whole. I hope we can cover a larger portion of the sky ... and that the global effort can launch a space antenna platform which can be specifically aimed at areas of interest.
