Profile: Jim Nosworthy

Personal background
My name is Jim. I am from Lethbridge, Alberta in Canada. I am in my forties and have had an interest in space exploration since I was a child. Since 1998 I have been on a disablity pension. Recently I purchased my first computer. I had seen the Seti@home screensaver on a friends computer in the late nineties. As soon as I could I went on line and searched out the Seti home page. I truely belive that we are not alone and it is just a matter of time before it is proven
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Life from the heavens is a definite possilbility. I cannot belive that earth is alone in the heavens. As we expand our knowledge of space and it's properties, as our technology expands, I am confident that we will recieve a signal from an other planet.
Benifits and dangers. All that I can hope for is that when we make first contact, niether worlds will enter a new era with suspicion and distrust.
Have we not been sending media messages for years? I just hope that the right message gets through.
SETI@home offers me the chance to hepl the project while afording me the oppertunity to learn. I have not had enough time to form an opinion on the project, I do think it is a worthwhile endeavour.
