I'm 27 orriginally from the Republic of Moldova but based at the moment in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. I am a training orthopaedic doctor and I have a fairly powerful laptop (3.06G P4 and 512 Mb RAM Packard Bell) at home where I do most of my work and and a Dell PC at work that I use occasionally but which runs non stop and which I sacrifice for SETI.
My spare time is quite tight for hobbies but occasionally I manage some nights out and hopefully soon some flying lessons.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I come from humble sceptic backgrounds that don't believe in chance, gambling or lottery and the question of aliens or extraterrestrials would sound ridiculous. Nevertheless I still buy lottery tickets as there is still a desperate chance to win and also a very distant one that one day we may find that we are not alone in this universe. Perhaps we should make a lottery for that as well?:)
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
