Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe life exists throughout the universe but that does not mean that we would be able to communicate with it due to space/time, life cycle, form and/or scale differences.

I do not believe that we should be transmitting any beacons, although there has been enough radio transmission from our planet to put us on the map. The reason is that it is highly likely that any species out there looking, is predatory, or would at least have motives that would be to our detriment as a species.

I support SETI as I am interested to know what this type of results this research will yield. I am glad to see that there are plans a foot for further use of this computing model in scientific research.
