| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I do think that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere out in the universe. We are taking the first steps to find that life and if we look hard enough we will find it. Whether it be intellegent life or just something very small just to prove that life exists outside of this one planet, the discoveries of such a find can impact human kind as a whole and the more we learn about ourselves the more we can understand how to better approach new methods of finding life out there. Our planet has been broadcasting TV signals into space for years but the chance of an intelligent life finding and understanding these signals is very small. But there is always a chance that it might happen someday in the future. With more knowledge and understanding of space itself we will be able to find better ways of searching for ET and sending messages to anyone willing or able to hear us. I have always had a fasination with the universe and I am very happy that this program has been developed for people like you and I to help find this unknown life that might exist out there among the stars. I have run this program on my computer for some time now and I always think that this could be the one with the message from the stars in it. Just to be a part of this project is wonderful and I would like for it to continue for many years to come. Just a small portion of the sky has been scanned for signals from space and there is so much we can learn from what we have already seen. But there is much, much more out there and I want to say Thank You to everyone who has made this program possible. Happy hunting!!!! |
