Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe ETL exists, we just havent discovered it yet. We might not be able to decipher a message or signal but it will be an amazing start. I think the bigger problem will be how to communicate with them when the time comes, figuring out language, sounds, images, sign language, mathematics, whatever the method will be a huge challenge to figure out.

Although Astronomy and recording planetary and star movement has been around has been around for centuries our technology just hasnt matured to the point where we are able to travel at light speed or faster to visit and explore where we would like to.

Earth is about 4.54 billion years old according to our science. If you compare that to our rate of advancements in technology and science over the last 100 years we are just barely getting started. Even 50 years ago if people had predicted we would all have cell phones in our pockets, computers in our homes and driving electric cars they would have had you committed. Just imagine what it will be like in another 100 years.

There is someone or something else out there... We are a mere dust molecule in the universe and the chances of other life is very probable. Who are we to think our Earth is the only planet that can sustain some type of life form or intelligent life forms in this vast frontier of space. It's more likely they are out there than not.
