| I like SETI@home because to me, it represents something pure; the human desire to explore. This desire crosses all political and social backgrounds. There are users from all over the world and their goal is noting more than to participate in some small way to the exploration of the stars and the exploration of our collective imagination. Personally, I don't care whether or not it data from my computer proves the existence of extra terrestrial life, just as long as the existence of such life is proven in my lifetime. But even if it is not, I feel good knowing that I participated in something that is a true world spanning community and something that is bigger than myself. |
