Personal background
Hi,
I have been running Seti for as long as I can remember now, since I got my first Intel computer, and would like to think I can make a small contribution to something I truely believe in - other life somewhere else.
I work in the mines in Broken Hill, NSW, Australia as a heavy equipment mechanic and have done so for the past 15 years which seems like an eternity. I have previously travelled through Canada, British Isles, Ireland (my fave) A few places in Europe and all across the bottom half of Australia.
I currently am interested in home built CNC machining and have built 2 working routers and 1 unfinished one with a few more in the works. I just love sitting inside on a wintery night with the computerised routers cutting things for my kitchen renovations while I sit by the cosy fire watching my favourite videos or TV shows. As you would expect I really enjoy Sci-Fi but they don't have much on our stations so I have to resort to Videos.
If you may think we are alone in the galaxy or universe just go to the www.hubblesite.org and have a look at the galleries of billions of galaxies and stars and it just may change your mind. I know it blows mine out everytime I try to fathom the extent of it all.
Be well.
warm regards from Richard.
