I live in South Saint Paul, Minnesota and am an Electrician and I was bor n in 1959.
I Inline skate (some people call it roller blading) I have been doing this since June of 2000. Since then I have been in three races and skated the SUN 75. That is a skate this is 75 miles from Hinkley to Duluth Minnesota. I raced my first marathon this spring. One hour 46 minutes. The Northshore inline marathon is in September. This is the one I really am looking forward to. It is on the same course as Grandma's marathon.
Well I skated that marathon and placed 1st in my age group and set a record. The old record was 1:34:26 my finishing time was 1:31:12, and out of 2169 skaters in my division my place was third over all. First was a 32 year old. The second place finisher was 35 yearsold and we skated the last 15 miles together. All in all a great experience
The computer that I use to run SETI is a MAC G4 867 and a 15" flat panel. I have up grade the memory to 1.5 gigs and the hard drives to 140 gigs. With this Mac I have made movies of my daughter paying the piano. I have her play on my hard drive that I recorded with my DV camcorder. I had to purchase the 80 gig hard drive so I had enough room to export the movie to IDVD. The movie right now takes up 30 gigs of space for a 2 hour 38 minute movie. Then I plan on burning it to a couple of DVDs
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Y es I believe in other life on other planets. I really do not think that we should send out a signal. Well because you never know who might come for dinner! But if someone/thing is advanced enough to travel here then I would hope that they would be civil about the whole thing and not have us for dinner OVER for dinner. The benefits could be huge if they came here to share technology. Anybody traveling here probable would not need our help though.
Why do I run SETI......why not? actually I'm in it for the money!! :)
