Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It seems totally illogical that we are the only sentient beings in the universe, and since we are transmitting signals out in to space (television, radio), it makes sense that eventually we are going to receive signals from another planet.

We may have already received them, but don't understand how to interpret them, but who knows.

One reason I run Seti@home, besides the fact it is a cool screen saver, is the idea of the general population of our world working in tandem to find intelligence on another world. Perhaps our work will let those out there know that we are not afraid of what the future holds.
