Personal background
A little bit about me, eh? Well I'm a 21 year old male Wiccan. I live in the USA, exactly where is unimportant. My hobbies include computers, working on my website, Hedwig, RHPS, Seven Nations, BattleTech. (Pssst..I stole that from my "about me" section of my website at http://www.thepurplecat.org)

I play Dance Dance Revolution (Pump It Up is the one here) too much. I wish I could say I have a really geeky IT job like most of you SETI users, (I can only dream) but I can't.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well now, let's just answer these cookiecutter answers, then whatsay I put a little freeform thinking?

Q:Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

A: It's not impossible that extraterrestrial life exitsts, just improbable. Who am I to say when humans will "discover' ET life. There are as many possible outcomes as there are grains of sand, either we will evolve or be killed. Fun huh? :)

Q: Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

A: Why not, lets all jettison our garbage into outerspace, of course my garbage won't blink and make beeping sounds. What kind of message? How about: "Hi, we are humans, and if we ever get off this hunk of rock we call Earth, we will devour every resource on every planet we come across. In case you are wondering, we are descendants of monkeys..not locusts. Please either: Stop us, or get out of our way." Got a nice ring to it, huh?

Q: Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

A: I run SETI@home because of my own need to know if something exits. I think the grassroots thing is really great.

Ok, now that the quiz is over:

I first heard about SETI@home a long time ago on a TV program called "Sightings", but I didn't have a computer then. I joined soon after getting my first computer, and have been sending packets on and off ever since.
