Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that life exists other than ours. It would be very childish for us to believe that the human race is the "supreme" life form in our universe. Our sun is a very young star by all account and I?m sure that advanced civilization have rose and fell long before the first one celled animal crawled from our seas. The newest pictures from Hubble show us what a great and beautiful universe God created.
We must keep searching the heavens for other life form in every way possible, from earth bound observation (i.e. conventional telescopes, to the new Hubble and Radio
Telescope. It is only a matter of time before we or they make contact. The benefits of advanced contact could be enormous, from cures to Sickness, interstellar (faster than light) travel. But we humans must learn to ALL work together so we might put on a proud face for the Human race. Otherwise an advanced civilization might just consider us a threat or a plague in the big picture.
We should keep transmitting around the clock with a message of peace and of willing to learn and co-exist with all.
I participate in this program because I believe that the Human Race is ready to take its place in the protection and keeping of this beautiful universe and all of its creations.
