| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

At the moment with the knowledge of have aquired i belive there is probably a great deal of life through out the universe, but if there is intelligent life it is rare.
If we do find intelligent life it will probably not have much effect on us other than to change our ideas and views, as it is unlikely we will be able to meet these beings or even have a conversation with them, due to the restriction of the speed of light and the time it would take to travel or even send a message the great distance between us.
It is though important that projects like seti carry on as just the knowledge that other intelligent life forms exist out there will have a great impact on our views of the universe. |
