i found out about SETI through Edward Tufte when he was lecturing in Chicago (see my Tufte alter at http://www.uwex.edu/ces/susag). I am a Wisconsin native working on any and all possible angles for pesticide reduction. My training is in biological systems, but any kind of systems work engages me including politics.
that's me in the center, in the Carpathian mountains roasting salo (pig fat) over the fire with my hosts. i didn't have the guts to tell them that americans dont do fat (at least directly) but I ate what I was served and it was delicious! |

| i don't know if there is et. ask shroedinger's cat. and i think we are transmitting plenty of beacons for ets, but dont know how inviting our sitcoms and tv news is to others. i run seti because it is exciting to be part of something much bigger than i. i get a thrill to be part of a large, anonymous community working toward a shared purpose. |
