Personal background
I am a college student studying Natural Resource Management at Oregon State University. I enjoy caving when I have the chance and am an avid reader. The last good book I read was probably Sagan's The Demon Haunted World. Music is also very important to me. Maybe we should send some music at high speeds via a very strong radio signal. That is sure to attract attention!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Though I probably won't go into anything to do with radio astronomy or the like, I enjoy the idea that we are not the only life in the universe that has created technology. I feel that there is simply too much out there for us to be the only chance occurrence of self organizing organic molecules. Once that chain has begun, then evolution has to take over, right?
We should definitely send a signal in many different formats, denoting the prime number sequence.
I run SETI@home because I want to help make contact. What higher calling could there be for my idle computer?
