| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Do I think E.T. exists? If Deism is correct, how can it not.
How will we discover? Knowing human nature, we will trip over it before we accept/see.
Benefits/dangers? No more or less than anything already (or will be) created/thought up my mankind.
Should we beacon? We are everyday/all day. "I Love Lucy" is our ambassador.
Why run SETI@ ... I am a number cruncher, my hobby is the study of light - so I have the crunch power. Thus, might as well do something during the idle time. Project is interesting, could be more if we could see some results back, but for now ... it is the quiet "service" we run in the backgraound.
